About The Aviation Observatory

The Aviation Observatory was established in 2026 to provide a route forecasting product that airport teams can run themselves. It is affiliated to Avia Solutions, who have produced independent route forecasts for airports and airlines since 2001.

Relationship with Avia Solutions

Avia Solutions Limited is an aviation consultancy, advising airports, airlines, investors and lenders on an engagement basis. The Aviation Observatory Limited is a separate company that licenses Meridian as software.

Who leads it

The Aviation Observatory is led by John Carter, Managing Director of Avia Solutions, whose aviation career of more than 30 years spans BAA and Heathrow Airport, GE Capital Aviation Services and Avia Solutions.
